Historical Tavira, situated along the Gilão River, is a beautiful blend of traditional Portuguese heritage and deep-rooted Moorish contributions. Traditional tiled houses, restaurants and an abundance of elaborate churches hidden among the cobblestone streets.
The Living Area
In addition to the amazing beaches which are just a ferry ride away, there is plenty to do and see in Tavira, including taking a walk across the Roman Bridge and visiting Tavira´s Castle, which has one of the best views of the city. Or just strolling along the cobblestone streets with their traditional shops, cafes and restaurants is also amazing.
The Bedrooms
Over the years, more and smaller restaurants have opened in Tavira and the nearby coastal towns of Santa Luzia and Cabanas de Tavira, some of which offer the best fresh seafood available at remarkable prices, combined with excellent service more commonly found in exclusive restaurants in northern Europe. The golf courses of Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima are less than 10 minutes’ drive away. The prestigious Monte Rei Golf and Country Club has a Michelin 1* rated restaurant called Vistas, which is also open to the public, so you can combine a perfect day’s golf with an excellent lunch or dinner.
