Well presented and charming country style single storey villa with beautiful garden and panoramic sea view on a rural and quiet location, yet only 15 kilometers from the beach of Manta Rota. A true privileged and peaceful location surrounded by pure nature!
The South-facing villa is located on an elevated position and enjoys far reaching 240 degrees country and sea view. The property consists of a spacious living room, a dining/breakfast area and fully equipped kitchen, all in an airy open plan design (see photo layout). In addition there are two double bedrooms with build-in wardrobes and two bathrooms, both en-suite and with walk-in shower (one with bath). Access from the living room and one of the bedrooms onto the south facing semi-covered terrace leading to a beautiful garden with many mature and local plants, an outside shower, BBQ area and a car port for two cars. The house has central heating in all rooms. Air conditioning in the living room and one of the bedrooms.
A car is recommended to get the most out of your stay in the Algarve. The villa has easy access by tarmac road.
The exterior
The Beach
The Eastern Algarve is re-known for its long, sandy beaches which are not overcrowded. Even in the busy summer months you only have to walk half a mile to find your self a quiet spot on the beach to unwind. The nearest beach is in Praia Verde renown for its many centuries old pines trees. Refreshment you can find in the beach bar and the good beach restaurants too.
Another nice beach to visit during your stay is the beach on the Island of Tavira (Ilha de Tavira). The atmosphere on Tavira Island is very relaxed and you have a good choice of cafes, bars and restaurants. The local restaurants serve both meat and fish dishes, but especially the latter you should try.
If you like excellent and freshly caught fish, this is a local paradise for you! Another nice beach to go to is the ones in Cabanas de Tavira and Barrill in Santa Luzia – opposite Pedras del Rei – centrally located in the Ria Formosa Natural Reserve Park nearby. Both places have a large choice of restaurants and bars for refreshments. A lunch or dinner in the nearby Casa do Abade in Santa Luzia is strongly recommended for its good service (they go the extra mile) and unpretentious fresh local food. The prices are very reasonable and their speciality “Porco Preto” is a typical dish from the Alentejo where the black pig of this region is fed acorns to give a distinctive flavour. Ask the owner “Tito” for his recommendation when ordering wine as he has lots of very good local wines at affordable prices. Furthermore, Pedras del Rei has a good restaurant called Vale del Rei as well as a Piano bar for late entertainment. On the beach of Barrill, you’ll find a self service restaurant, hamburger house, Pizzeria/Creperia, a bar, A Boutique/handicraft shop, Nautical Club and Massage Service. If you don’t like overcrowded beaches, this is the place for you. When arriving at Barrill Beach, even in high season you just walk for 500 meters either way, and you have the beach for your selves!
ths (starting in May to October) there is a boat ferry from the centre of town, opposite the Land & Houses – Happy Homes office, going to the beach of Ilha de Tavira and Quatro Aguas.
The Living Area
The Location
You will find this villa on an elevated location a short 15 minutes drive from Tavira, a typical Portuguese town with a long history where time stood still. Access by tarmac road with all amenities nearby: an ideal base for your holiday to explore the Algarve!
To the East lies the Spanish border which you can cross in 5 minutes. A day trip to Seville is highly recommended and only a good hour and a half drive away. There are many blue flag beaches in the area to choose from. It’s central location make it an ideal base to explore the Algarve. All the amenities in Tavira and Manta Rota are a short drive away where there are many restaurants and bars to choose from. The Algarve offers most of the year the ideal circumstances to play golf and there are four Golf courses all within a 10 to 20 minute drive away: Castro Marim Golf, Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima and the most prestigious of all, the Monte Rei Golf & Country Club. The old town of Cacela Velha is also well worth a visit. If you like gambling, there is a casino in Monte Gordo as well as many restaurants offering Portuguese and international cuisine.
The Bedrooms
The beautiful beach of Praia Verde with it’s centuries old pine forest is also well worth a visit. This is a very nice destination all year round. In Tavira it is very easy to lose track of time. Such a lovely old town with a rich history! You can spend hours strolling the charming cobblestone streets with it’s many restaurants, shops, bars and terraces to enjoy a refreshment in the sun.
Furthermore, the Ria Formosa Natural Reserve Park and Parque Lazer (on your way to Tavira) are both wonderful places for long walks, bird watching or bicycle (can be rented) tours offering visitors many possibilities to observe local fauna and flora. In other words, one of many opportunities to relax and enjoy this special area in the eastern Algarve.
