Beautiful three bedroom villa with swimming pool located on a fully fenced estate nearby the picturesque village of Santo Estevao with beautiful natural surroundings. The nearest beach is Barrill in Santa Luzia - opposite Pedras del Rei - centrally located in the Ria Formosa Natural Reserve Park just 1.2 mile (2 km) from Santa Luzia. In addition to some local restaurants, you are spoiled for choice in Tavira and Santa Luzia. Both places have a large choice of restaurants and bars for refreshments. A lunch or dinner in the nearby Casa do Abade in Santa Luzia is strongly recommended for its good service (they go the extra mile) and unpretentious fresh local food. The prices are very reasonable and their speciality "Porco Preto" is a typical dish from the Alentejo where the black pig of this region is fed acorns to give a distinctive flavour. Ask the owner "Tito"  for his recommendation when ordering wine as he has lots of very good local wines at affordable prices. Furthermore, Pedras del Rei has a good restaurant called Vale del Rei as well as a Piano bar for late entertainment. On the beach of Barrill, you'll find a self service restaurant, hamburger house, Pizzeria/Creperia, a bar, A  Boutique/handicraft shop, Nautical Club and Massage Service. If you don't like overcrowded beaches, this is the place for you. When arriving at Barrill Beach, even in high season you just walk for 500 meters either way, and you have the beach for your selves!

One of the nicest laidback places to visit is Tavira, 5 km (3miles) South of Stº Estevao. It is very easy to lose track of time in Tavira, a lovely old town with a long history where time stood still. You can spend hours strolling the charming cobblestone streets with it's many restaurants, shops, bars and terraces to enjoy a refreshment in the sun. The old palace is nearby and the beach of Ilha de Tavira is within walking distance and has many small restaurants. A visit to the recently renovated Pousada (Inn) is recommended. This is a very nice destination all year round. During the summer months there is a boat ferry from the center of town, opposite the Happy Homes office, going to Ilha de Tavira and Quatro Aguas.

The Location
You will find the estate on the hill of a mountain near by Santo Estevao, a typical Portuguese village where time stood still. Access by tarmac road on central location: an ideal base for your holiday to explore the Algarve!

The beach is a 7 minute drive and the local village 2 minutes, with the historical town of Tavira only 6 minutes by car. To the East lies the Spanish border which you can cross in 25 minutes. A day trip to Seville is highly recommended and only less than two hours drive away. There are many blue flag beaches in the area to choose from. It's central location make it an ideal base to explore the Algarve. All amenities in Tavira - a friendly town with a long history - are near by and there are many restaurants and bars to choose from. The Algarve offers most of the year the ideal circumstances to play golf and there are four Golf courses only a few minutes drive away: Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima, Castro Marim Golf and the most prestigious of all, the Monte Rei Golf & Country Club. The old towns of Cacela Velha and Castro Marim are also well worth a visit. If you like gambling, there is a casino in Monte Gordo as well as many restaurants offering Portuguese and international cuisine. It is very easy to lose track of time in Tavira, a lovely old town with a rich history. You can spend hours strolling the charming cobblestone streets with it's  many restaurants, shops, bars and terraces to enjoy a refreshment in the sun. Ilha de Tavira, it's famous beach with many small restaurants is only a boat ride away. The beach of Barril in Santa Luzia is also very nice. This beach is accessible by foot or if you don't like to walk, there is a small train that takes you there. The beautiful beach of Praia Verde with it's centuries old pine forest is also well worth a visit. This is a very nice destination all year round. Furthermore, the Ria Formosa Natural Reserve Park and the National Forest of Vila Real de Santo António are both wonderful places for long walks, bird watching or bicycle (can be rented) tours offering visitors many possibilities to observe local fauna and flora. In other words, one of many opportunities to relax and enjoy this special area in the eastern Algarve.
